The Journey of Swift Heath
In 2004, Cheryl, who is a horticulturist and her husband Reg, designed and built this beautiful garden, then named Evermore, from muddy cow paddocks on a gently sloping hillside.
What started as a blank canvas has since evolved into a stunning garden, that provides a hidden bird sanctuary, echoing the beauty and tranquility of the Jumbunna hillside, with panoramic views of the Strzelecki Ranges. The transformation of the land is a testament to their vision and dedication.
Our journey with this property began in July 2020, when my wife Christine and I purchased it and named it Swift Heath. Although we both have ancestral ties to Ireland, the name reflects Christine's ancestral ties to the renowned Irish satirist, Jonathan Swift, who is famously known for his work, "Gulliver's Travels."
The rolling green hills of Jumbunna remind us of Ireland, and it felt only fitting to honour our heritage through the names and features of our garden.
We have worked tirelessly, redesigning areas and adding new features throughout the garden, carefully naming key features to maintain our connection and love for Ireland, Jonathan Swift, and Jumbunna. Each name holds a special significance with us.
We have been so fortunate to form a lasting and close friendship with Reg and Cheryl. It is always an exciting time when they visit to see what we have done in the garden.

Ironically, one of our favorite old-time book and films is "The Secret Garden." and now, having our own secret garden, feels like a dream come true!

Warm regards, Paul and Christine.
